2 minutes for dead hang? Seriously? I did like 80 pull-ups today as filler for my squat press workout and was once known as captain pull-ups in the park for my pull-ups, but idk about a 2 minute hang. I don’t think I ever tried. I know I always hang my last rep for any set for like 20 seconds or so just because...but idk 2 minutes for anyone seems a lot. That with gloves on? I’m gonna have to try that now I suppose. PS, I hate cardio. I surf instead. Hope that’s working.

Deep breathing is useful in that it helps to slow down the various functions in your body that can keep you tense and anxious. 1 Allowing yourself to deep breathe will slow your heart rate and make it easier to drift off to sleep. As you fall into the deeper stages of sleep, your muscles will see an increase in blood flow, which brings along oxygen and nutrients that that help recover and repair muscles and regenerate cells. Hormones play a role, too

48, ~200lbs. Been going to the gym 5 days a week since May. I'm going to see how long I can dead hang Monday at the gym. 2 minutes seems extremely long. I'm currently doing about 30 minutes a day of strength training and 35 minutes on the elliptical, rotating between 2 settings on level 6. I do 30 pushups a day and rotate the ab machine and pullups, with pullups being 3x's a week and I use the assist bench on the pull-ups, bad back, arthritis. I feel pretty comfortable at that rate. Since I got fired for not taking the clot shot at the end of Sept. the gym has been my relaxation.

There is no real scientific evidence that any specific exercises improve longevity, or quality of longevity. Generally it seems to come down to genes, mental clarity, social network, balanced diet, basic fitness, meaningful engagement, quality of medical care, etc.

First of all this sounds like a advertisement for this clinic ,I’ve know people that have lived into there eighty’s and nineties .They didn’t do all this stuff but just did everything in moderation and kept there weight down and exercised withe something they enjoyed. What there not talking about is mental health function as you get older such as dementia,Alzheimer’s.You can be in great shape physically but mentally not understand or remember anything or anyone.

I’m just burnt out on fitness, diet and motivational gurus. It seems like a lot of regurgitating known information in a way that helps them push their book. You need resistance training such as lifting, cardio and don’t eat processed foods try to keep it to a protein and vegetables. I’ve almost never seen one of these gurus look how I want to look. People will counter well his blood work and health.. yeah thats all cardio and clean diet.

My mom lived to 79, a smoker from when she was 13 and morbidly obese. My Grandma and Grandpa on her side lived into their 90s both life long alcoholics and obese. They all lived very sedentary lifestyles and I doubt they did one fucking push up between them their entire lives. My dad and all his brothers worked hard labor jobs from the time they were teens until retirement. They all died in their early 70s. Even on his deathbed, my dad could crush a coconut with his bare hands. I'd like to see this guys data because I've seen lots of longevity studies and none of them say what this guy is bullshitting with. Longevity is 80% heredity maybe more.

My grandpa lived to 98, didn't workout a day in his life. A bunch of his friends lived into their 90s, none of them worked out. His mom lived to 101, didn't work out. He used to tell me how hardly anyone born in the early 1900s worked out, it just wasn't a thing like it is today and many lived into their 90s+. Obsessively working out isn't a game changer. Does it improve your quality of life? Most certainly, unless you put too much wear and tear on your body.
